The voice AI startup announced a preview of Canto, a 2B parameter model designed to enable high quality dictation in loud rooms and windy streets. Wispr secured $280 million in a Series B funding round led by Menlo Ventures at a $2 billion valuation, bringing its total capital raised to $361 million.

The company now serves 100,000 business customers and allocates the new capital to develop a voice interface for interacting with devices across all applications. Canto is the first in a planned sequence of larger models meant to enhance the dictation performance of the Wispr Flow product.
