The social media company has begun granting AI agents access to its network to facilitate integration with external developer tools. X is offering free XDevelopers API credits for the Model Context Protocol and will require posts from these accounts to carry an AI-generated label, which the company called a coarse measure for now.
X said the platform remains human-first but will allow more bots to participate over time with clear transparency on account status. The shift follows reports that AI connectors, including those for Grok Bot, were unable to log in to X on cloud computers.
